Bonus Q&A
Every person that we interview on The Super Strength Show has an opportunity to answer some extra questions that aren’t asked in the podcast. It’s a chance for our listeners to learn a little bit more about our guests and to get even more value from our show. Check out the answers that Coach Fury provided below!
Can you share one of your habits that contribute to your success in the gym?
Consistency. I make sure that I’m always on time and ready to deliver.
What are your favourite exercises?
My favourites are the Get-Up, MAX Lunge, Leopard Crawl, Swing, KB or USB Press and the Deadlift.
What are your favourite muscle groups to train?
It’s funny that I never really thought of this. I like working my shoulders, lats and chest.
What are your favourite pieces of equipment?
Kettlebells and Ultimate Sandbags. I’m a simple man.
What is currently on your workout music playlist?
The Bronx – History’s Stranglers, Burn – Godhead, The FTW- Pill, Slipknot – The Devil In I and Machine Head – Now We Die
How do you psych up for a workout or set?
These days, I try to lift more from a happy place than an angry one. I’ve been working on visualizations before I lift.
What was one exercise or routine that gave you great gains in muscle mass and/or strength?
I’ve had great success with the Easy Strength 40 Day Style programs. I usually pick four lifts. Two of them will be things I really enjoy and the other two will be things I suck at. This is a great way to dial in technique and build strength in a relatively short period of time.
What’s your favourite way to speed up recovery between workouts?
As an Original Strength Instructor, I really work in the OS Resets whenever and where-ever possible. I need to work on getting more sleep.
What’s your favourite meal?
A good steak and brussels sprouts never let me down.
What’s your favourite cheat meal and how often do you indulge?
Coney Island is one of may favorite places on Earth. I get there pretty often during the summer. It’s hard to pass on Nathan’s hot dogs, fries and a beer. I’ve been caving in every 1-3 weeks this summer.
What supplements do you feel work well for you?
This is a hard. I honestly can’t say I’ve experienced proven benefits from supplements versus real food. Aside from Quest Bars, I’ve been using BCAAs and some creatine
What do you do to relax?
I’m a film major, so I love to wind down with a good movie.
